Bunkrooms were good, had aircon in each room and double power points at the end of the beds (at least on bottom bunk, didn't see top bunks). Bathrooms in bunk room were in great condition and decent hot water, at least when I went. Chairs in the main auditorium were a little worn, but comfortable.

A beautiful area. Stayed at Bellbird Heights for a training course. It's a bit of a steep hike up a gravel drive around 10 mins walk from the main reception. A bit cold in the bunkroom (some have heat pumps, others only a 1h timed fan heater) so dress warm, but windows and sliding doors are double glazed. Beautiful sounds of Korimako (bellbird) throughout the day. Shared bathrooms, fixed head shower (2 showers, 2 toilets for ladies), has multiple steps inside and outside of building which are poorly lit- do bring lighting/torch to walk around in the dark. Will need to carry luggage up stairs/slope around 20m from carpark. Not suited for poor mobility but great for an outdoor experience and to get away from the city!

Fantastic camp or conference venue with expansive views over the Lyttleton harbour. Outdoor education activities for youth and tracks through the regenerating native bush in the valleys.

My children have been attending for Living Springs Camp for a couple of years now, and the growth we’ve witnessed in them since their very first camp is honestly remarkable. From hesitant first-timers to confident campers who now count down the days until they return. The environment is safe, nurturing, and filled with the kind of joy and connection every parent hopes for. They come home buzzing, full of stories, laughter, new skills, and most importantly, an overwhelming sense of belonging. The friendships they’ve made at camp are cherished, and they’re always so excited to reunite again. And the food? Let’s just say it’s a running joke that camp food rivals home cooking and I’m not even mad about it! John sure knows how to impress the kids with his cooking skills…. The nachos are world famous for sure! A huge shoutout to Kadin, Bex, Alex & Kath, who are the heart and soul of it all. They welcome every camper with open arms and wide smiles. You can feel how much they care & that they genuinely believe in the magic of camp. Their passion is infectious, and somehow, each camp manages to be even better than the last. Thank you, Living Springs, for creating such a special space. You’ve given our children so much more than just a holiday, you’ve given them confidence, community, and memories that will last a lifetime. We’re so grateful.

Excellent camp site to hold camps and conferences on weekends and holidays. Went to this fantastic site from 29 December 2023 to 1 January 2024. It’s about 25 minutes drive from Christchurch so you need a car or someone to take you there when there are camps or conferences as there is no transport that gets you there, unless you count on Uber. The site has breathtaking views of the harbour and mountains and the facilities are amazing and great. The rooms are quite comfortable and each room has reverse cycle heating/cooling system, so you won’t get hot or cold. The campsite has its caretakers and they manage the property very well and make really delicious meals so there is no shortage of food and getting fed. Overall, the site is wonderful and it’s amazing to see what New Zealand has to offer in the scenery and views. If you want great views, the harbour room is a must place to go into and take photos, although it is the hottest room in summer weather, you may not like to spend so much time there. Overall, I would recommend this to any group wishing to book a camp or conference for a weekend getaway. The drive to and from the camp also comes with amazing views of Christchurch.
