Waiotapu Camp offers school groups a unique opportunity to experience authentic outdoor education in a historic forest setting with deep roots dating back to the late 1800s. Located in a preserved natural environment, the camp is managed by volunteers through a non-profit trust dedicated to providing meaningful experiences for young people. The facility maintains its original character while incorporating necessary modern amenities, allowing schools to offer students an authentic glimpse into New Zealand’s forestry heritage. With a mission focused on helping visitors gain fresh perspective on what’s important in life, Waiotapu Camp provides a distinctive setting for school programmes that emphasize personal growth, environmental appreciation, and connection with nature away from modern distractions.
