As a solo female traveller, I did not feel safe staying here and cannot recommend this campsite. The environment felt sketchy, and there appeared to be permanent male residents that made the vibe very uncomfortable.

Beautiful & quiet. Next to a sanctuary, deer come wandering through & possums play at night. Flush toilets & warm showers ($2 for 8mins). Friendly service

We stayed here in our caravan although there are rooms available. What a beautiful secluded place. Ah the serenity. Very friendly helpful hosts. Plenty of facilities and a trip to the bird sanctuary 200metres up the road is a must. Get a 2 for 1 voucher from camp reception. We will definitely be back. Close to town, bus available every 30 minutes at the gate.

Stayed at this campground for two nights to do some mountain biking. The campground is awesome. It’s surrounded by native bush, wild deer wandering through, and native birds make lovely songs. The facilities are good. Mountain biking at Codgers is easily accessible where family fun grade 3’s can be found, and more pro focused grade 6’s. There is wildlife sanctuary next door. No noise issues as noted in previous reviews. Will definitely be back.

We're in a caravan but there are units available and tent sites. Lovely situation tucked into the curve of the Brook Waimarama Wildlife Sanctuary predator fence. Native birds flying close to us all day and calling at night. Heard a kiwi the other night and saw an awesome Tuatara outside it's tunnel in the Sanctuary. Staff at camp ground very friendly, welcoming and very busy. Everything very clean and tidy. Thank you so much. We'll be back. Good luck with the improvements.
