Bayscapes offers a memorable Bay of Islands sailing charter for school groups, aboard a spacious 40ft catamaran out of Paihia, with private bookings available for small groups.
It’s a great option for a camp, EOTC trip or end of year outing, a relaxed sail through the Bay with an experienced local skipper, followed by time ashore on an unspoilt island for swimming, snorkelling or a short bush walk. The day itself is a sailing and island experience rather than a structured lesson, giving teachers plenty of scope to build their own activities or discussions around it.
Along the way there’s plenty to see, including dolphins, little blue penguins and native birdlife against the backdrop of the Bay. Lunch can be arranged onboard, with dietary requirements catered for.
