Green Camp NZ and Green School New Zealand work together in Oakura, Taranaki to deliver eco-conscious outdoor learning that blends adventure, culture, and sustainability. Schools can book tailored camps through Green Camp NZ or engage with Green School’s curriculum-based outdoor programmes, giving you flexible options that suit your learners and timeframes.
Green Camp NZ designs experience-based school camps that connect students with the natural world and each other. Programmes are customised to your goals and may include surfing, fire making, outdoor cooking, navigation, and bushcraft, alongside sessions that weave in Māori culture and storytelling. Camps are built around teamwork, confidence building, and practical skills, with a strong emphasis on care for the environment.
Green School NZ extends outdoor learning into the school day with age-appropriate journeys that grow in challenge and independence. Younger students explore nearby rivers, bush, and coastal spaces through guided hikoi. Older students take on longer adventures that build navigation, planning, and risk management, with options that can align with Duke of Edinburgh journeys. The focus is on learning by doing, leadership, and kaitiakitanga.
Both teams share a commitment to sustainability and real-world learning. Staff support schools with clear communication, thoughtful preparation, and programmes that suit a range of ages and abilities. Whether you want an overnight camp on site or a series of day experiences, activities are selected to match your outcomes, capability, and season.
With a shared philosophy of connection, creativity, and environmental stewardship, Green Camp NZ and Green School NZ offer schools in Taranaki a natural fit for Outdoor Educators and Camps. Students return with new skills, stronger relationships, and a deeper sense of place.
