Profile
Nelson Lakes Motels offers group accommodation at Travers-Sabine Lodge, a modern, purpose-built facility located in St Arnaud on the edge of Nelson Lakes National Park. The lodge is regularly used by schools, universities, clubs, and other organisations, combining comfortable facilities with direct access to one of New Zealand’s most scenic outdoor settings.
Travers-Sabine Lodge is designed to make school camps and group stays straightforward. The lodge includes a large, fully equipped commercial kitchen with stainless steel benches, two big fridge/freezers, two full ovens, two microwaves, two toasters, a full selection of utensils, crockery, and cookware, plus a Rheem boiling water unit. This setup makes it simple for schools to plan and prepare meals for groups of any size.
The spacious dining room provides plenty of seating, while the lounge with log fire offers a warm gathering space. An upstairs reading room provides a quiet area filled with natural light, and a smaller lounge area gives flexibility for breakout groups or student activities.
Accommodation at Travers-Sabine Lodge includes a mix of double, twin, family, and shared rooms. Heaters are fitted in every bedroom, and all linen, bedding, and towels are provided. Four modern bathrooms and toilets support larger groups, making the lodge practical for schools.
Other features include Sky TV and daily servicing, which covers rubbish and recycling collection, ensuring the lodge remains tidy and well maintained throughout the stay.
With its modern facilities, flexible group spaces, and location right beside Nelson Lakes National Park, Nelson Lakes Motels’ Travers-Sabine Lodge is a practical base for schools. It combines comfort with access to outstanding natural environments, giving students and teachers the opportunity to enjoy both well-equipped accommodation and the outdoors.
