Camp Raglan is a purpose-built facility designed to make school camps easy to run, comfortable, and filled with opportunities for adventure. Located near Raglan, the site can accommodate up to 137 people, with dormitories for boys and girls, staff rooms, and a detached dormitory. Bethel House is also available as a separate option, offering double and twin rooms.
All main facilities are conveniently located under one roof. Dormitories, toilets, showers, a lounge, dining room, hall, first aid room, and office are all connected, making supervision straightforward for teachers and leaders. The camp also includes a large gymnasium with court markings, equipment, and a climbing wall, giving schools a versatile indoor space for sport and group activities.
Meals are provided by Camp Raglan’s resident cooks, with catering arranged for each group. Special dietary needs can also be accommodated, giving schools peace of mind when planning.
Outdoor activities at Camp Raglan are a highlight for visiting students. The site offers a confidence course, flying fox, trampoline, archery, air rifles, BMX track, and orienteering. Groups can also enjoy eeling, climbing the indoor wall, camping under the stars, or tackling the Burma trail. Evenings can include a campfire with marshmallow roasting or night walks, while stream and glow worm studies bring learning into the natural environment. For recreation, there are volleyball and basketball courts, table tennis, and a playground.
Schools also have access to a wide range of nearby attractions that can be built into their programme. These include Bridal Veil Falls, Mount Karioi, Te Toki Gorge, Pirongia Forest Park, Raglan Harbour Cruises, Hamilton Zoo, Raglan District Museum, and Waingaro Hot Springs.
