Profile
The Playground is Queenstown’s outdoor activity arena, set up with groups in mind and ideal for school camps and sports trips. Sessions are designed to create unforgettable experiences that build connections and confidence while aligning with EOTC goals. The site caters for groups from 6 to 200, offering good, old-fashioned fun with a focus on active wellbeing.
Schools can tailor a visit by creating their own activity combo or by choosing the Resilience and Personal Strengths Programme. Core activities include Archery Combat, Paintball, Ropes Challenge, Human Foosball, Bubble Soccer, and Knife and Axe Throwing. The programme pairs high-energy challenges like the Ropes Challenge and Archery Combat with teaching around resilience and identifying personal strengths.
After the activity block, groups can use the free BBQ facilities or bring packed lunches to enjoy on site, making it simple to plan a full camp day around the visit. Activity capacity is 24 participants per activity at a time, and the minimum age is 8 years. These settings help teachers rotate students smoothly and ensure the activities are age-appropriate.
The Playground offers generous school pricing: New Zealand schools with 10 or more students receive discounts of 40% or more when booking two or more activities, excluding paintball. Teachers and parent helpers play free with school bookings of 10 or more students. This pricing structure supports budget management while keeping adults engaged alongside students.
Safety is a priority, with experienced facilitators delivering a comprehensive briefing before activities begin. Combined with the variety of group options and EOTC-aligned outcomes, The Playground provides a practical, memorable addition to Queenstown-based school camps.
