Ōtorohanga Kiwi Holiday Park is a practical base for school camps and education trips in the King Country, with flexible group options and easy access to local learning experiences. The park welcomes small groups from 10 – 50 and offers a mix of lodge with bunk rooms, 5 bedroom house, cabins, motels and camping so you can match accommodation to your programme and budget.
The Lodge is set up with three bunk rooms plus a separate bedroom and sleeps 12–27. Two bathrooms with extra showers at the communal amenities. Large kitchen with plenty of fridge/freezer space and a private BBQ. Covered outdoor dining/BBQ area and communal kitchen with two stoves is available for use.
The Park House has five bedrooms, three bathrooms, a full kitchen, dining area and lounge, sleeping 4–11, with a private BBQ and deck. Additional studio, one and two-bedroom fully self contained units, one and two bedroom cabins without private bathrooms and powered/unpowered sites are also available.
On site, students can unwind between activities with a heated salt-water swimming pool (retractable roof for all-season use), two spa pools (free for guests) and a playground. Free BBQs are available at the covered outdoor dining area. The park also provides free unlimited Wi-Fi, a TV room, EV charging, and a self check-in kiosk (1.00 pm–11.30 pm) to simplify arrivals. Accessible units and amenities are also available.
Learning opportunities start on the doorstep. Within walking distance you’ll find the Ōtorohanga Kiwi House & Native Bird Park, the Sir Edmund Hillary Walkway and local parks. The Waitomo area — glowworm caves, bush walks and waterfalls — is about 20 minutes away, adding geology, ecology and adventure options to any camp plan.
