Profile
Earth Village, located in the Far North of New Zealand, offers a Youth Development Programme designed to inspire confidence, resilience and leadership in young people. Surrounded by native bush and open spaces, the village provides a unique environment where schools and groups can combine outdoor adventure with personal growth.
The programme uses outdoor activities and team challenges to help students build life skills. Activities include bushcraft, navigation, hiking, gardening, campfire cooking and group problem-solving tasks. These experiences encourage participants to connect with nature, work together and discover their own strengths. By learning in a practical, hands-on way, students gain self-confidence and an appreciation for the environment around them.
Leadership development is a strong focus of the programme. Students are encouraged to step into leadership roles within their groups, guiding peers through activities and reflecting on the importance of cooperation and communication. The structured yet supportive environment gives young people the chance to practice responsibility, resilience and creative thinking.
Earth Village also incorporates elements of sustainability and wellbeing into its camps. Students are introduced to concepts of caring for the land, respecting natural resources and working in harmony with others. The peaceful setting provides an ideal backdrop for mindfulness, reflection and building a deeper sense of connection to themselves and the community.
With experienced facilitators and a purpose-built setting, Earth Village offers schools and youth groups a safe and supportive environment for learning outside the classroom. The Youth Development Programme is adaptable to suit different ages and group needs, making it a valuable option for schools looking to deliver education that goes beyond the classroom walls.
