Located across the Bay of Islands, Whangaroa, and the Northland Peninsula, Northland Outdoor Adventures (NOA) brings the region’s coastal and forest environments into the classroom. With over 15 years of experience teaching ecology, natural, and social history at a tertiary level, their team of qualified ecotourism guides and outdoor instructors delivers immersive outdoor education with strong maritime and environmental themes.
NOA’s school and group programmes include:
Water-Based Education: Students can learn to sea kayak, surf, sail, snorkel, or free dive in Northland’s stunning coastal settings, guided by experienced facilitators with extensive teaching backgrounds.
Field Science & Environmental Education: Programmes bring conservation and environmental monitoring to life, often incorporating real-world applications and engagement with local industry.
Adventure-Based Learning: Interactive, team-building, and problem-solving activities designed to boost resilience, cooperation, and personal growth.
Northland Outdoor Adventures blends ecotourism with outdoor education, offering both adventure and learning in equal measure—whether turning the coast into a classroom or leading field science exploration in native habitats. Their flexible approach accommodates curriculum needs across marine science, environmental education, and EOTC frameworks.
Ideal for schools seeking enriching, multi-disciplinary outdoor experiences, Northland Outdoor Adventures supports learning through nature, guided by instructors who combine outdoor skills with a rich educational foundation.
