Students can take part in a wide range of outdoor adventures. Options include the world-famous Tongariro Alpine Crossing, offered as a guided summer or winter trip thatâs ideal for geography fieldwork. Groups can also explore underground caves in the Tongariro Forest, experience the excitement of white-water kayaking or rafting on the Whanganui and Tongariro Rivers, and develop bushcraft and navigation skills through campfire cooking and outdoor survival activities.
All equipment is supplied, including hiking boots, jackets, backpacks, wetsuits, helmets and lifejackets. Experienced guides remain with the group throughout the camp, providing ongoing support to teachers and leaders in managing safety and decision making.
Flexible package deals make planning simple, whether your group wants a focused Tongariro Alpine Crossing experience or a multi-activity adventure combining rafting, caving and outdoor challenges. Accommodation and catering are arranged by Adventure Outdoors, giving teachers peace of mind and more time to focus on their students.
Adventure Outdoors combines stunning Central North Island scenery with expert guidance, making school camps both safe and inspiring for students of all ages.
