KORE continues a decades-long tradition of introducing school groups to sailing. Each year, more than 3,000 students have the chance to get on the water, many trying sailing for the first time. The programme has expanded to include additional water activities and river crossing options, all designed to strengthen water safety skills.
The focus of KORE’s work with schools goes far beyond providing a fun day out. Every activity is linked to the New Zealand Curriculum, with particular attention to the five Key Competencies: Thinking, Using language, Managing self, Relating to others, and Participating and contributing. This means schools can be confident that a day with KORE supports classroom learning while building practical skills.
